Today, there were more vineyards and beautiful wine-growing villages to see. We went through Ammerschwihr commune and its famous Kaefferkopf vineyard, Turckheim, and Eguisheim. Although we are riding through the Vosges Mountains, and there are some short, steep climbs, most of the day was rolling hills and not at all difficult. It was Monday, and we had trouble finding an open restaurant or grocery store. But the scenery, it was amazing, at least in the first half of the day.
Colmar is a big city. It was easy to navigate on the bike trails, but not especially charming until we got right into the Old Town.
