Ribadesella

Bike Route: Alma de Norte Villaviciosia to Ribadesella, 32 miles 2400 feet of climb

The biking today was MUCH better. The route took us on small to medium highways, and we had only one or two short stretches of gravel. It was cool and misty most of the day. Tonight we are in a hotel used by TripSite on its bike tour of this area. It is a nice, small hotel just outside the town center, and we are quite comfortable.

Flowers are in bloom everywhere.

In the evening, we walked along the river and cheered on a group of young people holding an impromptu kayak race. There was much cheering and splashing, but also some furious paddling.

At the same location on the walkway stands this statue commemorating several years of winning teams.
