2023 United Kingdom, Day 26: Llanidloes, Night 2 of 2

Bike Route: None.

Accommodation: 200-year-old gardener’s cottage (Airbnb); host Lisa.

Dinner: Leftover ravioli, bacon, and cheese, with a salad.

Ken scrubbed and oiled the bikes while I did a few loads of laundry to remove all the bog muck. After we scrubbed our bike shoes and walking shoes and set them out in the sun to dry, we had a little lunch and relaxed a bit. Then I got busy with email, bills, the blog, and other computer stuff, while Ken put on his damp shoes and biked to town for dinner supplies.

By evening, we were feeling clean and rested, and ready to pack up and tackle another day on the bikes. It's amazing how a little food and rest and soap and water can restore a person!

Before turning in for the night, we did go through each of our routes for the next three weeks, trying to identify any ridiculous sections. The red flags we deduced from our blog day were unpaved sections and pitches over 25 percent. We think our routes are good going forward, but we've set up some parameters for bailing out if we run into anything like the bog stretch.
